A BOOK CLUB FOR HUNGRY READERS

Prologue

Hi! We are Bea and Emily, two friends with a shared love for reading and eating, preferably at the same time. We decided to start a book club so we have an excuse to read and eat more often, in the company of other people who enjoy this past-time as much as we do.

Each Book Snacks 'chapter' is a six-week cycle, designed to give us all plenty of time to read each book. The new book will be announced straight after the previous chapter ends, and each chapter will conclude with a delicious meet-up at Stories Studio in Shoreditch, with drinks, snacks and chats about the book.

Book Snacks Chapter 4 officially launches on Tuesday 28th July with our next book, Honey, by Imani Thompson.

The Story

The first time, Yrsa doesn’t intend to kill.

But the Cambridge professor sitting opposite has manipulated her friend, stolen her research. When she flicks the bee into his Sanpellegrino, she thinks he’ll get a nasty sting.

Then he’s dead. And Yrsa, who – let’s face it – has been bored for a while, is alive.

It’s a sweet feeling, finally having some control.

Comic, sexy, addictive, unpredictable, Honey is about the not-always-righteous path of taking justice into your own hands.

Praise for Honey

The essential next read for fans of Butter, Yesteryear, My Sister the Serial Killer, Fundamentally or Boy Parts.

‘Honey is a Trojan horse: a commercial thriller that folds in race and feminist theory. Sassy and pacey, it nods to Promising Young Woman and RF Kuang’s Yellowface’ PANDORA SYKES, SUNDAY TIMES STYLE

‘The best kind of campus novel, satirical and razor-sharp, crossed with a crime story’ GUARDIAN'

Epilogue

Over the six weeks, we'll be chatting about the book we're reading on WhatsApp, but don't worry, there's no pressure to be involved with this - you can engage as much or as little as you like. We won't be bombarding you with messages, or checking up on your reading progress, we'll just be popping by every now and again to check in and share our reading journeys as we read the story together but at our own pace.

We'll also send information over on WhatsApp about the IRL meet-up so everyone knows where they need to be and when.

Secure your spot to the third chapter of Book Snacks here. Tickets are £20 and include attendance to our Book Snacks gathering on 8th September 2026 at 6.30pm (with snacks and wine) and you can buy your copy of Honey from Waterstones here (or wherever you normally get your books from) ahead of us launching Chapter 4 on the 28th July. Spaces are really limited so please only purchase a ticket if you are definitely able to attend. We can’t wait to read and eat with you!
